The Virginia Tech Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT) received statewide recognition at the 2025 Commonwealth of Virginia Innovative Technology Symposium (COVITS), where its DASH application was named a winner in the Innovative Use of Data, Analytics & AI – State category.
The DASH platform (Data Analytics System for Highway safety) exemplifies Virginia Tech’s leadership in transforming data into actionable insight. Designed by CGIT researchers and developers, DASH integrates diverse public datasets into a unified, interactive dashboard, empowering policymakers, agencies, and community leaders to make data-informed decisions across sectors such as broadband access, workforce development, healthcare, and education.
The COVITS awards, hosted by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), recognize exceptional innovation in public-sector technology.
